SALVADOR DALI COMMISSION FINISHED AND FRAMED

When I started drawing this piece, I took a far different approach. I decided to try drawing on canvas, instead of wood or paper, which was one of the hardest things I have done.

This work is graphite on canvas, with wood stain and oil paint. With Salvador Dali being my favorite artist of all time, I had a blast creating this work and my client let me pick out the custom frame.

This is the finished product.

PRINTS, PRINTS, PRINTS

Part of my business plan for 2017 is to be able to have my work available for every budget. I want to be able to produce as many options of my work as possible to appeal to a more diverse audience. I believe it is our job as artists to share what we do with the world.

I don’t want to be one of those artists that only has originals for sale that many people would not be able to afford, meaning less people have your work and get to in turn enjoy it. I want my business to change this in the art world. I am currently working on building a strong print inventory where anyone could find something they can purchase for their budget. As of now, my new pricing starts at $25.00 a print-$650.00

I am also making efforts to apply my work to other surfaces, such as prints on metal and clothing. Soon, my site will have prints on metal and clothing for sale in addition to prints on various different types of paper. This is a long process with many tests to make sure I am putting out the best products possible. I am very excited to have my new print page up and see the response I get from my fans. If you ever have a question about getting a print on something I do not offer on my site, I would love to be able to look into it and see if I could get a custom one made just for you!

” THE LONELY CROWD” A group Exhibition @ Helikon Gallery

This Fox skull piece will be exhibited in this amazing group show at Helikon Gallery. This illustrative piece was drawn in graphite and black color pencil on watercolor paper and then I proceeded to apply gold oil paint for some finishing touches. Various parts of the background are stained throughout with coffee to give it a little bit of a rustic/aged feel. It is custom framed and matted and now FOR SALE!

The artists that I am showing with are so inspiring and some of my all time favorites so this opportunity for me was HUGE. Some artist that you guys should check out before heading down to this show are Joseph Martinez, Miranda Meeks, and Rob Rey. Your jaw will fall to the floor when you see the level these artists are working at. I am incredibly honored to be part of this.

COMMISSIONS, COMMISSIONS, COMMISSIONS!

Throughout each year I do a lot of custom work for clients, it is what, for lack of a better term “puts food on the table” However, this isn’t really how I look at it. I love being about to create something for somebody that is so personal and special. It reminds me why I am an artist.

As of recently, I can’t thank my clients enough for supporting/believing in this dream of mine. Lately, I have been fueled by the reactions I am getting  when they see their custom piece for the first time. Its truly the best feeling to know you, yourself made that happen.

INDUSTRY DENVER Exhibiting RASHELLE STETMAN ART

If you have not checked out my work hanging at the Industry Denver building, DO IT! I am so honored to have my work in such an amazing collaborative space with around 70 businesses surrounded in Rashelle Stetman Art.

Here is an image of a Shotgun Painting I did a few years ago. This one was hilarious to create, it was the most playful and childlike experience I have had with my career yet, as I typically work very tight and controlled. There was nothing controlled about this process.

I filled several balloons with acrylic paint and some water. I hung all these balloons from a wooden contraption I built and a canvas hanging a few feet back from the balloons. I would then stand at different lengths away and shoot through the balloons so the paint began to make a very uncontrolled splatter painting! I used my moms shotgun she has had for years so it had a personal connection to our family.

After this process I stretched a fully black painted canvas around the stretcher bars and then double wrapped the newly splattered canvas over that. This way the holes the shotgun created provided some depth with the black you can see through it.   I had it custom framed with quality/durable wood and painted it black. It is a 4.5×3.5 ft. piece, so it will occupy some substantial wall space.

This is such a fun piece, it has such GOOD VIBES and is FOR SALE! Contact me at rashellestetman@gmail.com or pop over to Industry to see it in person and speak with the receptionist at the front desk!
