STEAMBOAT SPRINGS SHOW IS COMING UP THIS JULY!

July 21, 2017

5-9 PM

Steamboat Springs, CO

I worked the majority of the last year on this body of work reflecting a western lifestyle. Some iconic images are included but many images from families in the Steamboat Springs area that helped shape that community that I grew up in. Your roots are a vital part of who we are and who we grow to become. My history of growing up in Steamboat has shaped the artist, woman and soul I am today which pours into each piece my hands touch. I wanted to have this show in Steamboat for the purpose that it hit a place in my heart on a deeper level, its where the work was made to be exhibited. The “venue” is actually in my good friends barn on her families ranch, it was a place I spent a lot of time as a kid and seemed too perfect to consider any other place.

I Built all the easels for it, had several prints and clothing pieces put into production to then sell at this event. Each original shown is custom framed and protected. I am so excited about this exhibition, I hope to see you all there!

FIRST CELEBRITY COMMISSION!

These last few weeks have been surreal for me having been commissioned by Chad Michael Murray. For privacy purposes I agreed to not post the image I illustrated of his wife and daughter, but it was beautiful!  One of my favorite clients, so easy to communicate with and the image he provided me with to draw was so incredibly touching and sweet that drawing it was filling me with so much warmth. I am so honored to have been chosen to create this piece for them, it was given to Sarah, Chads wife on Mothers Day as a surprise gift. Last night I received a message that it was reposted and an article was written about the commission on People.com!

Sometimes things just work in your favor, sometimes you are blessed with amazing gifts completely unexpected. Life is good and I am so excited for what things come next!

PUPPY PORTRAIT WIP #1

This piece was commissioned by a client who’s puppy passed away. They were really close and this portrait was created to keep the memories alive. One amazing think about art is it keeps memories vivid. I worked from a photo they took and tried to push every detail to get it as accurate as possible. I had a lot of fun drawing this one, and seeing how happy the client was brought me so much happiness. Can’t wait to have another experience like this one!
